My Storey
I've always been fascinated by nature.
As a child and throughout my life, forests and natural ecosystems felt alive with knowledge and mystery. I was drawn to understanding the intricate relationships between plants, wildlife and the environments they inhabit. That curiosity led me to study biology at university and ultimately complete a Master's degree in Environmental Science, followed by more than twenty years working as an environmental scientist.
Throughout my career, I developed a deep appreciation for the complexity and resilience of the natural world. I also came to understand that human health cannot be separated from the health of the environments in which we live.
Where Science Meets Mindfulness
Alongside my scientific career, yoga and meditation became an important part of my own life. These practices offered a different way of understanding wellbeing—not through data or research alone, but through personal experience, mindful awareness and a deeper connection with both body and nature.
Over time, these two paths naturally came together.
Why I Created Maytree Meridian
Maytree Meridian was created from the belief that science and mindfulness are not separate disciplines, but complementary ways of understanding ourselves and our relationship with the living world.
Today, I bring together environmental science, yoga, meditation and nature-based wellbeing to create experiences that are both evidence-informed and deeply personal. Whether through yoga by the ocean, guided meditation, forest bathing, educational workshops or handcrafted botanical skincare, my aim is always the same—to help people cultivate a deeper relationship with themselves and the natural world, one mindful step at a time.
My Journey
Like many people, my own journey has included periods of both physical and emotional challenge. Over time, yoga, mindfulness and regular connection with nature became more than practices—they became the foundation of my daily wellbeing. They taught me that resilience isn't about eliminating life's challenges, but about developing simple, sustainable habits that help us respond with greater strength, balance and self-awareness.
I believe wellbeing is built through small, consistent daily practices that support us through both the opportunities and challenges of life. My own routine includes yoga, mindful time in nature, meditation and moments of quiet reflection. These practices continue to help me cultivate resilience, perspective and a sense of balance, and they form the foundation of what I share through Maytree Meridian.
